Frequently Asked Questions

Got any questions or worries? Chances are most of them will be addressed below, if not just email us using the contact form.

Why choose Eden Walks?
We offer the best value for money - Our tours are 10% sometimes 15% cheaper than many of our compeditors. And that's not even counting kids because unlike other companies who may offer you a few euro off the regular price, we don't charge anything. Yes, that's right, if your children are under 12 years old, they don't pay for the tour, just a small booking fee and the admission cost when applicable, (see specific tour for more details.)

All of our guides are university graduates, not students - Because we pride ourselves on the standard of our tours and believe in quality over profit. We don't accept second best and neither should you.

All of our guides are native English speakers - Because what's the point of having an expert if you can't understand them.

Our tours are always small - We guarantee a maximum group size of 17 people (*excluding any children under 12)

Will we have to wait in any lines?

Everyday is a little different, but with Eden Walks we try to make your wait as short as possible. While many other companies promise to help you SKIP THE LINE, as they call it by offering sales gimmicks like VIP ACCESS or VIP ENTRANCE we don't and here's why. While these may seem like a great deal at a glance, with a little research you'll find just another cleverly placed marketing tactic. (This is one of those times when you're only paying for the packaging and believe us, you do pay.)

Not Convinced? -

Well firstly those really long lines you're going to avoid by paying more money were 2 YEAR AGO!
2007- The Vatican Museums changed their opening times and also reduced them. Back then they were only open between -

Winter Entrance
10am - 12:30pm (and closed 13:45pm)

Summer Entrance
10am - 15:30pm (and closed 16:45pm)

However by paying a few euro more you could avoid the line and get in between -

08am - 10am (But only with a tour)

This early entrance was created to avoid over crowding in the museums. What happened? Well by reducing the hours the regular line got bigger and bigger. People didn't want to wait and so everyone and his dog started selling SKIP THE LINE TOURS. The result was that soon, even those that had paid not to wait in line were actually just waiting in another line, the SKIP THE VATICAN LINE line.

What's Changed?
Longer hours, in 2008 the Vatican Museums extended it's hours -

2009 - 9:00am-16:00pm (and close at 18:00)

2010 - 9:00am-16:00pm (and close at 18:00)

And that's all year round. So no more really long lines and if there is a line, it will be in the morning. That's why we do our Vatican tours later in the day plus it's a little cooler then (the Vatican is not air conditioned). In regards to our other tours there's no line for the Rome at Sunset tour and there's normally not a line for the Ancient Rome either.

What happens if the lines come back again?

Don't worry, if things change so will we.

Are entrance costs separate?
No, because when you book a tour with Eden Walks everything is included.

How do I book a tour/s with you?
At the end of each tour page you'll see a button that says Book this Tour which you can click on and will guide you through the booking process. In regards to Private tours just click the button that says Contact Us.

What is the difference between your Group and Family options?                                             Our Group Tours offer our clients a more economical way to see the sites. With numbers of never more that 17 people*(excluding any childen under 12), these tours provide great value for money without compromising on quality and are great whether you're traveling by yourself, with friends or family. Our Family Tours offer a more personalized option and have been designed specifically for those with limited time who want to see the sites alone or with friends or family.

Is there any difference between your Family and Private Tours?                                                       Yes because while our Family tours offer a more personalized option they still have certain restrictions such as fixed times, itineraries, number of people and duration. Our Private tours however allow you to choose what you see, what time you start and how many people join you.

When will I receive a confirmation?
Once you've paid for your tour/s, a confirmation will be sent to your email from Pay Pal follwed by an email from us detailing meeting points ect. If you used the Contact Us function you will recieve a reply within a few hours.

The date I choose is fully booked, is there anything I can do?

If you can't do the tour on another day you can always contact us directly at tours@edenwalks.com and we'll try our best to accommodate your request. Another option would be a Private tour, which allows you the freedom to choose your own time.

Where do we meet for our tour and how do we recognize our guide?
After booking your tour you'll automatically receive a confirmation email. This will contain all the information you'll need to find us including meeting place/s, time/s and how to recognize your guide.

Is there a dress code?
Only for the Vatican Tour. Remember the Vatican is a holy place and requires all visitors to cover both knees and shoulders. So no mini skirts, shorts, vests or offensive T-shirts, (when in doubt just remember if your grandmother would object to what you're wearing chances are the Vatican will too.)

Are your tours wheelchair accessible?
Unfortunately many of the places we visit are extremely difficult to access in a wheelchair. Therefore we can only offer this option as a Private tour.
