Raphael was the master of light and color, known for his beautiful art of the Virgin Mary, his harmonious architecture, and the impeccable beauty that is shown in his paintings of the famous women who sat for him in Rome. An artistic genius and a man beloved by both men and women, Raphael lived to be only 37 years old and died in his bed on the same day he was born, while the Pope held his hand.

Where we will be

 The tour also includes his fresco painting on the Basilica of Saint Augustine depicting the Prophet Isaiah and the architectural artwork in Santa Maria del Popolo and the Chigi Chapel. You can again admire his work as an architect in Santa Maria della Pace and see his Sibyls depicted on the ceiling of the same Chigi Chapel.

What we will do

guided tour in the footsteps of Raphael, from the church's to some the most important churches of the Renaissance time, and all the people that surrounded him when he came to Rome: nobles, cardinals, bankers and Popes. We will follow the life of this great painter who changed the history of Renaissance art and the lives of every artist who came after him and wanted to be better than him. His body is buried inside the Pantheon.

What’s included

 the Pantheon, which contains Raphael’s tomb; the Basilica of Saint Augustine to see Raphael’s Prophet Isaiah fresco painting; and finally to the Basilica of Santa Maria del Popolo and Santa Maria della Pace for his Sybils fresco painting and the Chigi Chapel.
